Someone feels the lobbying love

Hilary gets lobbyed by States McCarter here, all because of the La Puerta Del Sol flap.

As annoying as States McCarter's position on this issue is, and as wrong-headed as his opinions here are, we do have to give him some credit for at least trying to reach out to his constituents. There's not enough of that on the Commission. (Heck, one member of the crack editorial staff is still waiting for a reply to an email he sent his Commissioner some two months ago.)

Still, States is wrong. But if he's the kind of guy he says he is, and if his interest in what his constituents think is real (and we honestly believe it is), then it can't hurt to drop him a line and let him know what's on your mind.

While you're at it, except for a few local blogs like Hilary's and Athens World, (and of course, your crack editorial staff here) this thing isn't getting much attention, so drop a line to Flagpole and speak your mind as well.

This is what government should be about, citizen lobbyists taking a stand. So stand up, already.

Also, States, if you're reading this, we'd like to give you a forum to express your views on the issue. We're trying to change your mind, the least we can do is give you the opportunity to reciprocate. Email us, dude!

Tips.

It's been passed along to the ABH.

I'll be interested to see what they do with it.

Speaking of the ABH, is Allison Floyd off the politics beat now? For that matter, is she even with the ABH still?
