Posting Slowdown (er..Standstill)

As you have undoubtedly noticed, if any of you are even still checking, we don't post so much around here these days. As was alluded to in previous posts, both AthPo eds. are in busy transitional phases in their lives/careers. It's not clear at this point where AthPo is headed. We are considering getting some editorial assistance; however elimination, or at least an extended hiatus, of the blog is also a possibility. If that ends up being the case, I want to extend a hearty thanks to all who have contributed from all ends of the political spectrum, and I encourage everyone to continue to read and contribute to our linked blogs (as will we as time permits). Here's a few tidbits to tide you over if you're still jonesin' for local politic news:

The Solicitor's race is heating up, with several former prosecutor's lining up as possible challengers, including my personal favorite Bill Overend;

The filing deadline approaches rapidly, with still no definite word on where Jane Kidd will run;

Mac Rawson will challengeRalph Hudgens for his State Senate seat.

Is Bill Overend your favorite in some sort of Alanis-Morisette-definition-of-ironic manner?

The most qualified of the challengers is definitely CR Chisolm IMHO.

I hear BP may announce he's entering the race within the next week or two.

All three challengers are apparently going to run as Dems.

got it on reasonably good authority that Mo is not planning to run for re-election.

I'm with Hillary on this one.

I miss y'all too! You were right after my morning visit to the ABH online. I hope you find someone to take over while you deal with your transitions. If not, I've really enjoyed you while you lasted.

sincerely,

So what do we know politically about Mac Rawson? I just met him and he didn't say anything about politics.

This blog won't be the same if you get editorial assistance.

Mac is a good guy. Never really seen him active on a campaign but he's like the number 2 guy in the local Democratic party but, that ain't a lot to brag about.

He'd make a good state senator but he can't win so, what difference does it make?

C'mon guys. Make 30 mins a day to keep this puppy up and running. A great service to the community.
